Overview:

As an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer at INFICON, you will be providing technical support to the production departments for sustaining and legacy product support of electronic boards and assemblies. This includes involvement in troubleshooting, root cause identification and product support. Knowledge of general engineering standards with soldering, cable making, crimping and general assembly concepts will be required. As an individual, we are looking for you to be highly motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects with exciting and unique tasks in a fast-paced, Agile environment. We expect you to be a self-starter with no supervision to complete your work. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Completes Root Cause identification and resolution for failed electronic assemblies, updates control plans and PFMEAs based on failure data.
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; soliciting observations from technicians.
  • Develops PFMEA’s and Control Plans for electronic assemblies.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Supports supplier quality initiatives by thoroughly understanding parts/components needs and limitations; drives expectations of performance with suppliers and addresses issues that arise.
  • Prepares product and process capability reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Provides technical guidance to other team members acting as a resource and mentor with training and development.
  • Performing various assembly tasks in support of the company's Production departments including soldering, crimping, cable-making, and other general assembly work
  • Build custom boards, cables, and complex assemblies from schematics, and mechanical drawings for the research, development and production departments.
  • Build mechanical assemblies to customer specifications based on manufacturing drawings.
  • Assisting with the testing evaluation of products
  • Providing recommendations for process improvement
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility
  • Successful candidate will be a self-starter and require no supervision, and able to work cooperatively in a group.

 

Education and Background:

  • A.S in electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or other technical discipline.
  • Experience as a Technician/Engineering support
  • Excellent soldering skill, ability to solder surface mount components, and rework experience
  • Experience using CAD software
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to understand and execute  technical projects
  • Strong work ethic, detailed-oriented and have the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to read electronic schematics, engineering drawing, troubleshoot problems to the component level.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
