Job Description Cardiac Sonographer Location: Vestal, NY Start Date: February 23, 2026 Contract Duration: 13 weeks (3 months), with possible extension based on performance Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour meal break) Hours: 40 hours per week Compensation: Travel: $2,997.00 per week ($74.92 blended hourly) Local: $65.00–$69.00 per hour Position Summary The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures in an adult outpatient clinical setting. This role ensures accurate evaluation of cardiac structure and function while supporting timely clinical decision-making and maintaining compliance with professional, regulatory, and organizational standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform comprehensive adult cardiac ultrasound examinations, including 2D, M-mode, Doppler, Color Flow, Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), and Stress Echocardiography Produce preliminary findings and immediately communicate critical or abnormal results to the interpreting physician Operate and maintain Philips EPIQ ultrasound systems Perform stat and emergency echocardiograms as required Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and handling of ultrasound equipment, including TEE probes, in accordance with infection control policies Accurately document procedures, findings, and reports within the electronic health record Maintain complete and accurate patient records in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards Adhere to service delivery, quality assurance, and patient safety standards Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications Demonstrated technical expertise in adult echocardiography Strong attention to detail, clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient environment Effective communication and collaboration with physicians and clinical staff Education Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: Associate’s Degree from an accredited Cardiac Ultrasonography program Certifications and Licensure Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer ( RDCS – ARDMS ) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer ( RCS – CCI ) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) Work Environment Adult outpatient cardiology clinic Vestal Heart & Vascular (Cardiology) Office Closed on all recognized national holidays Pride Health offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
