The Position:

AmeriCU Credit Union is in search of a Real Estate & Commercial Analyst III who aligns directly with our mission to provide our members with the right financial services to live life, dream big, and achieve financial success, and our vision to be the most admired organization in every community we serve. The Real Estate & Commercial Analyst IIIwill:

  • Be responsible for the collection administration of all mortgage accounts. This includes foreclosure through managing the Other Real Estate Owned portfolio. Reports and complies with all secondary market procedures regarding loss mitigation, collections and foreclosures through the online secondary market system. Coordinates with appropriate lending teams to ensure appropriate changes are made to the primary lending systems.

    What you will do:

    As a Real Estate & Commercial Analyst III your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performs Secondary Market Accounting for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac custodial accounts. This includes the accurate transaction reporting within the Secondary Market Electronic Default Reporting (EDR) System. Responsible for ensuring knowledge is maintained and enhanced with regard to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac requirements.
  • Collaborates with mortgage servicing company in the effective management of real estate loans which includes portfolio and secondary market conforming loans.
  • Assists commercial and consumer real estate borrowers with restructuring and modifications to improve the financial position of the borrower(s) and soundness of Credit Union's position.
  • Provides support to any government programs, such as the Home Affordable Mortgage Program (HAMP), VA, FHA, and SONYMA loan programs.
  • Maintain real estate reporting on soundness and stability of portfolio, along with collection metrics and status reports on effectiveness of collection efforts.
  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of management and board reports as required.
  • Request and coordinate services such as appraisals and title reports for Loss Mitigation options and as required.
  • Prepare legal requests to commence foreclosure and coordinate proceedings with Legal Counsel.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met for in-house and secondary market mortgage loans in order to protect Credit Union's interest in the real property.
  • Attend Trustee Sales as needed and/or requested by management.
  • Secure, inspect and make request to insure all REO properties. Ensure that properties remain in good condition until sold.
  • Upon inspection of the property, obtain pictures and evaluate the condition of the property.
  • Obtain repair estimates for properties. Make recommendations, approval and coordinate the necessary repairs.
  • Work with realtor on marketing of REO properties.
  • Perform commercial credit reviews to assist in the ongoing management of credit risk; comply with operating policies and procedures established for the loan review function; communicate with appropriate personnel; and maintain appropriate records and reports.
  • Communicate with business members on loss mitigation options and solutions to ensure viability of business portfolio.
  • Assist with commercial credit reviews to assist in the ongoing management of credit risk to include analyzing adherence to loan policy and procedures, credit quality collateral valuation, and loan documentation.
