Department of Physical Therapy at Utica University invites
applications for a full time, tenure track, 10-month
Assistant/Associate Professor position of Physical Therapy. The
potential start date is August 1, 2023.THE DEPARTMENT:The
Department of Physical Therapy is housed within the School of
Health Professions and Education. The School includes programs in
occupational therapy, nursing, health sciences, and therapeutic
recreation. The School provides opportunities for interprofessional
education and faculty collaboration. The Department is home to
talented, collaborative and award-winning faculty, many of them
have been involved in leadership positions at the University, New
York and National APTA offices.The educational facilities include
classrooms, clinical skills labs, and a cadaver lab. The PT Program
offers a number of community service programs, including access to
a senior wellness program, a local student run pro bono clinic, and
a well-developed roster of patient volunteers for integrated
clinical experiences throughout the curriculum. In addition,
collaboration with the local health system allows for student
access to inpatient populations for focused laboratory sessions
during the second year of preparation. The local Health System is
currently constructing a new, state of the art downtown

will:---Teach, based on the department needs and contemporary
expertise of applicants, in some of the following content areas:
pediatrics, neuroscience, neuromuscular systems, other systems
(e.g. integumentary, genitourinary systems, amputation, etc.),
clinical science, research and professional practice. Additional
teaching opportunities may exist in selected areas based on
education, experience, or specialty certification.---Have an
established research agenda, and participate in departmental,
University and community service activities.---Participate in
students' academic advising and professional mentoring.Driving

RequiredEducation & Experience Qualifications Terminal academic
doctoral degree such as PhD, DSc, DrPH, DHS or EdD, or similar.
Candidates with prior higher education experience are preferred.
Required License/Certification and Qualifications:The candidate
must have a current unrestricted license or eligibility for PT
licensure in New York State.Minimum Skills/Abilities Minimum
Skills/Abilities:---Contemporary expertise in Physical Therapy, or
ABPTS Certification---A commitment to innovation and
student-centered learning.---Evidence of an ongoing or developing
scholarly agenda;---Ability to engage in the provision of service
to the University and community;---Ability to function well within
a collegial, collaborative work environment.Preferred
Qualifications:---Evidence of teaching excellence with a successful
record of academic and/or clinical teaching;Based on candidate
interest and qualifications, participation in administrative
responsibilities related to the entry level program or the clinical
