Job Description:
The Library Building Monitor is a part-time, temporary position.
The successful candidate will be available to work scheduled shifts
(evenings up to 10 or 11pm, and/or weekends), and to fill in on
short notice when possible.
1. Building Related Duties:
Open and/or close the library building
Enforce policies, including COVID-19 related campus and New York
State mandates
Report building maintenance needs
2. Circulation Related Duties:
Support the work of Student Library Assistants
Staff circulation desk as needed Assist individuals with
directional questions and provide general customer service
Use Library Management System to check items in and out, locate
materials, and do basic searching
Process reserve and interlibrary loan items
Refer non-library questions to the appropriate IT Help Desk,
Learning Center, Distance Learning, or Mario Caf personnel
Manage study room reservations
3. Other reasonable duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from college or university accredited by the US
Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting
organization.
Outstanding communication skills appropriate to a post-secondary
education environment.
Extraordinary commitment to public service.
