Position Overview

As a Process Engineering Physicist you will be providing technical support to our semiconductor sensor product lines to develop robust high yield processes on legacy products and supporting the transition from new product development to production. The ideal candidate has graduate level experience in the design of instrumentation or test apparatus necessary for making novel measurements relevant to the chemical and physical sciences. As an individual, we are looking for you to be highly motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects with exciting and unique tasks in a fast-paced, Agile environment. We expect you to be a self-starter with no supervision to complete your work. 


Job Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD) in a physical science (e.g., Chemistry, Physics) of engineering required
  • Good understanding in one or more of the following areas: mass spectrometry, plasma physics, spectroscopy, optics, lasers, vacuum science 
  • Knowledge of TOF mass spectrometers and ion optics desired.
  • Conduct, develop, and execute tests and experiments with established methods and newly developed/novel techniques.
  • Contribute novel sensor ideas and methods.
  • Identify customer needs and modify existing product or develop new measurement tools capable of meeting these needs
  • Analyze data 
  • Good delivery skills for oral presentations to colleagues and customers.
  • Experience documenting experiments
  • Ability to develop training programs for technicians and other Production staff on Mass Spectrometry and related topics.
  • Ability to (1) to plan/schedule tasks (2) define hardware components, (3) interface with vendors, (4) perform data reduction and analysis, (5) document/report test results, and (6) deliver completed systems
