Responsibilities The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), under
the direction of a Licensed Practitioner, Registered Nurse (RN) or
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care and
assists with activities of daily living to a designated group of
healthcare consumers. In addition, creates an organized work
environment that is conducive to efficient workflow for the
clinical staff. Provides services which encompass the spiritual,
physiological, social, and psychological aspects of care of the
sick, prevention of disease, or conservation of health. The
position contributes to the mission and core values of CHI
Under the direction and supervision of the Licensed
Practitioner, RN or LPN, participates in the nursing process which
includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. The nursing
process is an ongoing process that can end at any stage.
Assessment - Contributes to the assessment of the health status
of the healthcare consumer.
Plan - Contributes to the plan of care through observation, data
collection and communication of findings to the appropriate member
of the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications Require active certification as a Nurse Assistant
on the Nebraska and/or Iowa Nurse Aide Registry depending on the
Basic Life Support is required upon hire. Acceptable
credentialing bodies and certifications - American Heart
Association: Basic Life Support.
