2022 Job Description: Description of Duties:Supports the technology
needs for faculty and students in teaching and research. Acts as
the liaison between faculty and Information Technology Services to
document and communicate requirements. The primary responsibility
of this position will be the technical operation of the network and
computing infrastructure that serves the Computer Science and
Network and Computer Security departments. This includes overseeing
and participating in the design, planning, management, maintenance,
and security of the infrastructure. Duties include managing a
rotating pool of student assistants who assist in maintaining these
systems. This infrastructure supports computing requirements of
faculty engaged in structured research programs such as parallel
computing, big data, cryptography, visualization, simulation, and
quantum computing. Other reasonable duties as assigned. The primary
location for this position is Utica with Travel possible to other
operation locations Job Requirements:Minimum Requirements:B.S. in
Computer Science or related field from a College or University
accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally
recognized accrediting organization.2 - 4 years of experience
setting up and maintaining servers in a variety of
environmentsExperience with Linux system administrationExperience
with virtualization servicesExperience managing a small staff
