We have built a reputable customer base providing both USDA and custom meat processing as well as providing several schools, stores and restaurants with locally sourced quality meats. We are excited as we continue to grow with an extensive expansion project underway. A member of the Floater Team engages with operational departments, ensuring the process is working seamlessly. This role involves working independently, as well as in a team; able to maintain a fast-paced environment and adjust to change. New hires are a Floater Team- Apprentice during the probationary period and will have supervised on-the-job training satisfying job description requirements. *Schedules can be amended to satisfy production and processing needs. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Grinding: Portioning Combining sausage seasoning and stuffing Making patties according to order specifications Proper labeling of all customer products Smokehouse: Assist with loading and unloading of smokehouse Slicing meat Mixing of any needed seasonings Prepare brines Proper labeling of all customer products Others: Setting up and taking down equipment for the assigned position Loading and unloading freezers Assist Wrap Team Occasional reporting Proper labeling of all customer products The Processing Manager determines assignments of Floater positions. The Wrap Team Lead handles employee-related administrative tasks, such as timesheets, time off requests, etc. Desired Skills: Attention to detail Manual dexterity Adaptability and flexibility Teamwork Time management Basic math Communication skills Positive attitude Critical thinking/problem-solving skills Commitment to safety and cleanliness Physical requirements: Must be able to manipulate items weighing 60 lbs. in various directions for storage. Must be able to withstand long periods of staying still and moving about the work area safely and efficiently. Must be able to exercise fine motor skills and manual dexterity; precision is required to maintain sharp knives. Must be able to position oneself to access materials, machinery, and storage. Must be able to exercise repetitive movements Must have physical stamina Must be able to work in different temperatures, specifically cold.
