Join a dynamic team in a hospital setting as a Surgical Physician Assistant in neurosurgery. The practice predominantly involves spine surgery, with occasional cranial cases, providing a diverse caseload. This role offers a balanced schedule with no required call duties, and provides an opportunity to assist in surgery and perform minor procedures.

• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
• Setting: Hospital
• Start Date: 06/29/2026
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, no required call
• Patient Population: All Ages
• Location: Cooperstown, NY

• Weekly direct deposit
• Malpractice insurance with tail coverage
• Supportive credentialing assistance
• Lodging and mileage reimbursement (if applicable)
• Flexible scheduling

• First assist in neurosurgery including spine and cranial cases
• Conduct minor procedures such as suturing wounds and wound aspirations
• Provide coverage in the OR, clinic, and some inpatient rounding
• Collaborate with a team of physicians and advanced practice providers

• Valid Physician Assistant license
• Experience in neurosurgery preferred
• Proficiency with EMR systems, particularly Epic
• Ability to manage a varied caseload with flexibility

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Optional call available with additional compensation

• Strong surgical first-assist abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Competence in performing sutures and wound management
• Adaptability to varying patient volumes and case complexities
