Job Description Job Description Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / MSDU) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (Medical Step-Down Unit) Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights – 4x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) License Requirement: Active NY RN License in hand – No exceptions Facility Overview Tertiary Care Hospital 528 Total Staffed Beds 26-Bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Scrubs: Any combination of Navy and White Unit Overview The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is a critical care step-down unit providing evidence-based care to adult acute patients requiring a higher level of monitoring than a general medical-surgical unit. Patients are admitted from various departments including: Emergency Department Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Medical-Surgical Units All patients are on continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry monitoring. Patient Care Scope The unit cares for adult acute patients requiring: Airway management Acute BiPAP support Arterial lines Central lines Titrated IV medication infusions Patient assignments require flexibility and vigilance, with a multidisciplinary, team-based approach to care. Nurse-to-Patient Ratios Must be comfortable managing a 1:5 to 1:7 MedSurg ratio Required Certifications Active NY RN License (in hand) BLS Certification Required Experience Minimum 1 year of RN experience EPIC charting experience required Ability to work in a high-acuity step-down environment Required Clinical Skills Cardiac Monitoring & Emergency Response Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Participation in Rapid Response and Code Teams IV Therapy / Phlebotomy Peripheral IV line care and management Respiratory Care Nasal Cannula Oxygen Face Masks Portable Oxygen Tanks Non-Invasive Airway Management Professional Practice Isolation precautions Infection control standards For more details reach at sthakur@navitashealth.com or Call / Text at 732 791 4807 - EXT 4807 .
