Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and
optimizes health and abilities. The RN is responsible for the
prevention of illness and injury. The RN alleviates suffering
through the diagnosis and treatment of human response. Advocacy in
the care of individuals and families is a key responsibility. The
RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice.
Professional development aligns with nursing regulations and
policies. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for
patient-centered care. Job responsibilities include assessing,
planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating
nursing care. The RN serves as a primary nurse and/or accountable
nurse as designated by unit assignment. Educating patients and
families in health promotion and disease management is essential.
The RN utilizes knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers
medications. Responsibility extends to effective resource
utilization, including staffing and supplies. The RN participates
in nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and
improvement initiatives. Engaging in professional development and
completing mandatory education is expected. Integration of nursing
research into practice is encouraged. Providing a supportive
learning environment for new employees and students is essential.
The RN will follow organizational values and perform other duties
