Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nurse Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 6 months to 3 years License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. They are responsible for the prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. They promote a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. They serve as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment. The RN considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact. They educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications. They share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. The RN complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. They actively participate in and support shared governance by engaging in improvement initiatives and contributing to peer review practices. The RN engages in professional development and continuing education. They integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
