Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Elmira, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,362 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/1/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN Step Down Profession: RN Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Stroke Training Must-Have: - Experience in step-down nursing - Ability to manage patient assessments - Proficient in medication administration - Strong communication and teamwork skills Description: This position involves working in a step-down telemetry unit. You will provide care for patients requiring intermediate monitoring. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 3:1 for step-down patients. During day shifts, the ratio is 5:1, and during night shifts, it is 7:1. Your responsibilities include pushing, pulling, and lifting patients as necessary. You will be responsible for patient assessments and developing care plans. Team nursing is a core component of this role. The unit features large rooms with private bathrooms and showers. A commitment to teamwork and communication is essential for success in this role. Training in stroke care is required for all nursing staff.
