Job Description:
Albany Medical Center, a leading healthcare system renowned for

patient care, is currently seeking a Clinical Nurse II for our
Short Stay Surgical Unit. In this pivotal role, you will facilitate
optimal care for patients who undergo short-stay surgeries,
ensuring a smooth pre-operative and post-operative process. As part
of our dedicated team, you will have the opportunity to work in a

essential support to our community's health. Manage nursing care
for surgical patients in the short stay unit. Assess, plan,
implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the
multidisciplinary team. Administer medications and monitor
post-surgical recovery. Educate patients and families on pre-op and
post-op care. Document patient care services by charting in patient
and department records. Ensure operation of equipment by completing
preventive maintenance, calling for repairs, and evaluating new
equipment. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by
attending educational workshops and participating in professional
societies. Proficiency in clinical skills with an emphasis on
surgical patient care. Strong organizational and interpersonal
skills. Ability to handle a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in
electronic medical record systems. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current registered
nurse license in the state of practice. BLS certification from the
American Heart Association or American Red Cross required. ACLS
certification preferred.
