facility is a leading provider of cardiac and cardiovascular care
in Central New York. The hospital features advanced cardiac
surgical facilities, a Level 2 trauma designation, and utilizes the
Epic EMR system, ensuring seamless patient care coordination across
departments. Opportunity: Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery -
Cardiovascular Job Details: • Locum assignment from 2/1/26-5/1/26
to cover paternity leave• Monday through Friday schedule ()•
Primary responsibilities include operating room duties with some
ICU/floor coverage• Perform chest tube insertions• Assist with
retrieval of vascular tissues for use as bypass conduits• Serve as
OR 1st assistant for cardiovascular procedures• On-call
responsibilities 1-2 evenings per week, operating call from home
(1/week ratio)• Work under supervision of Dr. Charles Lutz with
adult patient population• Must have cardiac surgery operating
experience including 1st assist and vein harvest• Robotic
experience is a plus• Must maintain active NY State License with
NCCPA certification• BLS and ACLS certification required• Estimated
credentialing timeframe: 1 month• Facility will reimburse for
hotel, flight, and rental car expenses• Epic EMR system used for
documentation Compensation: Competitive hourly rates with weekly
pay and malpractice included.
