Registered Respiratory Therapist Location: Potsdam, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,416 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: NY state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP Must-Have: - First-time travelers accepted - Locals accepted: No, must be over 50 miles Description: Minimum years of experience required is one year. Previous charge experience is preferred. Traveler experience is accepted. Adult Critical Care skills required include extubation, nasal airway placement, and pulmonary hygiene. Candidates must be comfortable with all age groups, including pediatrics and neonates. Patient care responsibilities include medication delivery and ventilator management. Candidates may be tasked with performing EKGs after hours. The workplace operates with a fully functional respiratory therapy department, available 24/7. Candidates are expected to work alone or with another therapist. Ability to adapt to a changing care environment is necessary. Knowledge of various ventilators, including Servo I, LTV, and Hamilton T1, is preferred. Routine patient diagnoses will vary, with care provided in multiple areas including ICU and emergency. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency and compassion in patient care. Candidates will work with a daily census ranging from 12 to 18 patients. Special equipment and inhaled medications will be part of the job duties. The role will involve routine monitoring and troubleshooting of high-pressure alarms. Interdisciplinary support is an integral part of the unit. Candidates will be expected to manage tracheostomy care and suctioning regularly. Candidates will have responsibilities related to pulmonary hygiene and sputum collection. This position requires candidates to have a strong background in arterial blood gas interpretation. Candidates will also assist with high-risk deliveries when necessary. Overall, the role emphasizes compassion and proficiency at the bedside.
