Job Description Physician - Internal Medicine (Nocturnist)-Rome, NY Base Salary: $325,000 annually Starting Bonus: $15,000 Employment Type: Full-Time, Hospital Employed About the Opportunity We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine Physician to join a growing Hospitalist team as a Nocturnist at Rome, NY. This is an excellent opportunity to practice inpatient medicine in a supportive, community-centered environment with strong subspecialty and intensivist coverage. Key Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to a manageable census of 5-10 patients per night. - Conduct admissions from the ED and direct admissions, including thorough histories, physicals, and diagnostic assessments. - Accurately document all encounters in the Paragon EMR system. - Manage acute medical conditions for patients on the hospitalist service, including care in an open ICU with 24/7 intensivist support for complex cases. - Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, case managers, and ancillary departments to ensure optimal patient care. - Develop and coordinate safe and timely discharge plans, including follow-up care arrangements. - Participate in handoff communications and interdisciplinary rounds to support continuity of care. - Engage in quality improvement initiatives, performance metrics, and patient safety programs. - Adhere to all hospital policies, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory documentation requirements.
