Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in PCU/IMC within the last 3 years License: NY license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years Telemetry experience Description: This position is for a mixed acuity unit handling PCU, MS Tele, and medical-surgical patients. The unit will adjust ratios based on patient acuity. You will have experience with a variety of procedures and patient care protocols. The position involves managing patients with diverse diagnoses, including surgical pre and post-op care. Your skills should include interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac drips. Key responsibilities will include IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, and bladder irrigation management. You will be expected to manage patients with renal failure, central lines, and IVs among various other nursing responsibilities. It is essential to have experience with respiratory management, including CPAP/BIPAP and high flow nasal cannula. You will need to demonstrate proficiency in isolation precautions and wound care. Teamwork is essential as you work closely with various interdisciplinary services. The position may require floating to corresponding sister units as necessary. Travelers with relevant experience will be accepted for this role. Candidates must be willing to commit to a rotating schedule, including weekends. Expect to engage in direct patient care and maintain high standards of nursing.
