Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Department: Imaging Location:
Canton - Potsdam Hospital Hours Per Week: part time , 22.5 weekly
scheduled hours Schedule: day/ evening shift, 8 hour variable, on
call responsibility, weekend rotation SUMMARY: Performs high
quality Radiographic exams as directed by the Radiologist. Assists
in the daily routines of the Imaging Department. Responsible for
performing any procedures that are part of General Radiology,
including special procedures, OR cases, portable exams, etc. This
is in accordance with approved techniques, policies and regulatory
standards as established by regulatory agencies, standards and
policies set forth by the organization. Adheres to the professional
standards of the NYS Department of Health, the American Registry of
Radiologic Technologist. RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs direct patient
care: Applies knowledge of anatomy, positioning and radiographic
techniques for each exam. Determines exposure factors to achieve
optimum radiographic techniques with minimum radiation exposure.
Follows the ALARA principle in incorporating collimation and
shielding in accordance with policy and procedures. Performs any
special procedures as part of DI services, prepares contrast media
for exams as needed. Greets Patients/family in professional manner
and can adequately listen and take care of patient concerns or
refer concerns as needed. Utilizes two patient identifiers per
policy, verifies Provider order accuracy, educates patients
pre/during and post procedure. Ensures that patients are properly
dressed and prepped for all exams. Maintains Equipment, supplies,
cleanliness and Safety: Follows CPH Infection control P&P with
regards to Isolation, universal precautions, cleansing of
equipment. Maintains an adequate amount of supplies within exam
rooms as needed for schedule. Performs daily QA/QC on equipment as
required per manufacturer and/or NYS-reports any mechanical issues
or system errors to Biomed Department. Wears radiation film badge
per guidelines and turns in each month for monitoring. Provides
assistance to Peers and Patients in transporting, transferring, and
standing of patients, following safe handling guidelines. Universal
Criteria: Improvement commitments, (Listens/attends monthly staff
meetings and modality meetings, suggests ways to improve quality,
productivity, demonstrates responsibility for ongoing personal
development and growth through continuing education. Plans and uses
time appropriately, by performing duties in a self-directed manner
with minimal supervision, able to complete routine and urgent exams
within departmental time frames. Follows standards of behavior as
set by the department and CPH. Completes annual Healthstream
programs, maintains HIPPA, complies with laws, rules, regulations,
standards and hospital policies. Reports compliance issues through
the chain of command. Stays within hospital guidelines regarding
sick/absent time, and provides proper notification of
absence/tardiness. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: New York State
Department of Health Licensure Registered with ARRT (American
Registry if Radiologic Technologists BLS within 3 months of hire.
Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology program IV
certification. 1 year experience in general radiography setting.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work -
Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25
pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10
pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent
walking, standing or squatting. For disease specific care programs
refer to the program specific requirements of the department for
further specifications on experience and educational expectations,
including continuing education requirements. Any physical

RANGE: $29.15 - $42.34 The listed base pay range is a good faith
representation of current potential base pay for a successful full
time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for
additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including
experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity,
