Job Description Express Healthcare Staffing NY is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Oneonta, New York. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel 15 beds, plus 4 routinely used hall spaces o Specialized areas include 2 “hall overflow” spaces and a dual-bay trauma room ? Certifications: o BLS, ACLS, PALS ? Layout and Equipment: o U-shaped layout around a central nursing and provider area o Key resources include multiple storage rooms for specific items (sterile supplies, sharps/IV, equipment) ? Census and Patient Volume: o Average daily census: 40-70 patients o Admission/boarding rates vary based on in-patient staffing and open beds within the facility and primary network facilities Staffing and Support ? Staffing Ratios: o Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 4 to 6 patients per RN o Core staffing levels are maintained daily, with ratios varying based on acuity ? Support Staff: o Roles include registration staff, ED techs, and 24-hour respiratory therapists (not specifically assigned to the ED) o ED tech responsibilities: Sitting with suicidal patients, taking vitals, transport, and bedside care Typical Patient Population ? Case Types: o General ED cases, with stabilization for stroke, MI, trauma, psychiatric, geriatric, and pediatric patients o Serves a broad range of patients as the nearest ED is 25 miles away ? Special Procedures or Equipment: o Includes adult and pediatric crash carts, ventilators, ultrasound, Philips cardiac monitoring systems o Documentation system: EPIC/ASAP Scheduling and Expectations ? RTO (Requested Time Off): o Policy allows up to 5 calendar days of RTO in a 13-week contract (5 specific days, not reduced hours within a workweek for the first contract. Manager would still like to be able to schedule talent for 36 hours each week) o Strong preference for no RTO during the first contract, but individual day requests can be accommodated Express Healthcare Staffing NY Job ID 127.
