Job Description:

UPMC is hiring for an LPN in our Orthopedics office in Wellsboro. This is a part-time position on day shift. Hours are Monday-Friday from 7:45am-4:15pm, 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5pm. Candidates may be expected to float between multiple offices. This position is eligible for a generous sign-on bonus listed below:Sign-On Bonus Details:

• $3,750 sign-on bonus available for nurses with over one year of experience
• $2,500 sign-on bonus available for Graduate Nurses and nurses with less than one year of experienceResponsibilities:
  • Draw blood.
  • Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
  • Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
  • Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
  • One year clinical experience preferred.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
    • Act 34
    • Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
