Job Summary The Operating Room Nurse promotes and restores patient's health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and providing support to patients, visitors, and families. The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, promoting, and evaluating quality patient care, as well as providing teaching to patients, families, and the public. Core Job Responsibilities

• Identify patient care requirements and establish personal rapport with patients and families throughout the patient's experience.
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
• Promote patient independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching patients, friends, and family to understand disease processes, medications, and self-care skills, and providing time to answer questions.
• Assure quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, and making or recommending adjustments to the patient's needs.
• Ensure the operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, and maintaining equipment and inventories.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration, and controlled substance regulations, utilizing universal precautions at all times, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment. Education/Experience Requirements Required:
  • Graduate of an accredited associate degree program in nursing Preferred:
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program or higher degree
    • One or more years of experience in a related setting Licensure/Certification Requirements Required:
      • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse Preferred:
