Summary:
The Registered Professional Nurse Ambulatory Care is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The RN assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient needs. The RN contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork.

The RN III and IV assures that the care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes and state and federal law, and provides leadership to department staff, serving as a resource and mentor. These RNs contribute to the body of professional nursing practice through participation in research, committee work, and professional organizations, internal and external.

Other information:
3 years RN experience required; 1 year of above RN experience must be within relevant practice area; Previous experience as a charge nurse/leadership role preferred
Education/Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited Baccalaureate, Associate or Diploma Professional Nursing program is required. Licensure/Certificates:Current NYS license as a RN requiredBLS certification requiredCertification in area of practice preferred Experience/Qualifications:3 years RN experience required1 year of above RN experience must be within relevant practice areaPrevious experience as a charge nurse/leadership role preferred Skills:Ability to assess patient status and take appropriate action is requiredDemonstrates competency in required nursing skills relevant to area of practiceAbility to multi-task effectively in a rapidly changing environmentAbility to function in leadership capacity as determined by practice arenaAbility to precept and mentor other staff members Physical Requirements:Walking, standing, squatting and kneeling required throughout the shiftAbility to lift and position patients requiredCategory I risk exposure as defined by OSHAMust be able identify and differentiate colors
