Job Description:
The Assistant Director for Personnel and Benefits is responsible
for the management and administration of SUNY Polytechnic
Institute's (SUNY Poly) personnel transactions and payroll
administration for professional and classified personnel services,
while ensuring regulations and laws that govern these functions are
adhered to. This position is responsible for providing guidance to
campus administrators and supervisors in the interpretation of
administrative laws, rules and regulations relating to personnel
and benefits function to ensure the campus complies to these
requirements. This position will require a strong understanding of
payroll analysis and be able to report to Senior Leadership their
finding. The Assistant Director for Personnel and Benefits will
initiate the development of action plans, problem resolution
strategies and other initiatives for the campus administrators.
This position has the authority to assist in determining, creating,
and affecting policy for SUNY Poly. Other reasonable duties as
assigned. The primary location for this position is Utica with
travel required to other operating locations.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
from a college or university accredited by US Department of
Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization; a
minimum of three to five years of professionally responsible
experience; demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices
of personnel administration; demonstrated proficiency using
Microsoft Office; excellent oral and written communication
skills.

Preferred Requirements:
PHR/SPHR or MBA focused on HR Preferred
Proficiency with SUNYHR and Payserv
