Description of Duties:
The Residence Director/Assistant Director for Residential
Programming is a 12-month, full-time, live-in, staff member of the
Student Affairs Division reporting to the Director of College
Housing. This staff member is responsible for establishing and
maintaining an atmosphere in an assigned residence hall that
promotes the educational, cultural, social, and personal
development of SUNY Poly Utica campus students. Responsibilities
include planning and execution of a broad array of assigned
residential programs, created and adapted regularly by surveying
student interests and evaluating success of programs. The Assistant
Director assistant with retention efforts including one on one
coaching meetings with students who are not making satisfactory
academic progress or are struggling with meeting community
standards of behavior and engagement. This staff member will have
an important role in the planning and execution of residential
programs and staff development. Evening and weekend
responsibilities are an essential component of the position. Other
reasonable duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from college or University accredited by the US
Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting
organization. The ability to manage a variety of projects and
responsibilities, experience in diverse populations, excellent
organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work
independently are a must.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree and post undergraduate experience in Residential
Life or First Year Orientation/First Year Success preferred.
