Job Description Job Description JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The
Quality Engineer 2 will be responsible for supplier and process
quality for SureScan. Responsibilities include participating in
supplier assessments and selection, performing pre-analysis and
acceptance on mechanical prints, including analysis of geometric
dimensioning and tolerancing. This person will also inspect, and
test warranty return materials and perform failure analysis on
them, including tear-down and inspection of failed x-ray tube
assemblies. This engineer will also drive process quality and
process definitions to improve performance and reliability of x-ray
generator assemblies, working collaboratively with our
subcontractor who performs the assembly. To excel in this key role,

comprehension; keeps others adequately informed. Monitor quality of
x-ray tubes, x-ray tube assemblies and high voltage cables Perform
failure analysis on field return parts. Design experiments to
improve product performance and reliability. Develop expertise in
assembly and operation of x-ray tube assemblies. Participate in
Material Review Board Maintain Bill of Materials Audit suppliers
for capability, participate in supplier selection. Review
engineering specifications and drawings. Assess manufacturability
of designs. Maintain awareness of new processes and methodologies
for manufacturing products Propose design modifications to aid
manufacturability and reduce costs. Research and identify new
suppliers. Participate in supplier reviews, design reviews,
supplier audits, and manufacturability assessments. Forms and leads
teams. Analyzes technical data, designs, preliminary
specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and
availability of parts and equipment. Interviews supplier
representatives regarding specifications, costs, inspection, and
similar problems relating to parts and equipment. Coordinate
Engineering level purchases of material not yet released into
production. Prepare quotation packages for suppliers, including
using Autodesk vault software and producing PDFs of prints and
specifications. Maintain Part Number history files. Maintain list
of design releases required from Engineering to ensure procurement
BOM up to date. Review engineering specifications and drawings.
Assess manufacturability of designs. Consults with engineering
personnel to establish performance criteria and specifications for
manufacturing and testing. Arranges and participates in conferences
between suppliers and engineers, purchasers, inspectors, and other
company personnel to facilitate material inspection, substitution,
standardization, rework, salvage, utilization, and economical
procurement of parts and equipment. QUALIFICATIONS -
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or
university; or three or more years related experience and/or
training in procurement engineering, quality or process engineering
in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. A degree in Mechanical or Electrical
Engineering or physics is helpful. Familiarity with machining
processes is helpful. Prior experience with high voltage
applications and x-rays is desired. REQUIRED SKILLS: Ability to
read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. Familiarity
with CAD systems helpful. Ability to utilize computer software,
including Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent written and verbal
communication. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common
scientific and technical journals. Ability to work with
mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical
inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and
trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw
valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of
technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal
with several abstract and concrete variables. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is
occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and X-ray
equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually
moderate. Travel may be required to suppliers. Travel will
