SUNY Polytechnic Institute's College of Health Sciences Department
of Community and Behavioral Health and the College of Arts &
Sciences Department of Social and Behavioral Sciencesinvites
applications for a full-timetenure-trackAssistant, Associate or
Full ProfessorofClinical Psychology.The successful applicant
willsupport our B.S. programs in Community and Behavioral Health
and Psychology programs.
We are eager to hear from candidates withdemonstrated commitments
both teaching and research, and a commitment to cultivating
diversity inthe university and professional work environment.
The successful candidate willbe expected to develop a productive
research program that actively involves undergraduate and graduate
students. The successful candidate will join an active and
committed group of faculty and can anticipate the opportunity to
participate in the development of a graduate programs in the two
Colleges. In addition, the candidate will also be expected to
contribute service to the university and profession as appropriate.
Candidates should demonstrate that they have (1) experience
teaching undergraduate psychology courses including quantitative
methods; (2) experience with multiple teaching modalities and
familiarity with "best practices" in undergraduate education; (3)
evidence of active and ongoing research in clinical psychology; and
(4) professional engagement with students in and out of the
classroom.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach three courses
per semester, online and in person, at the undergraduate- and
graduate-level in support of the Community and Behavioral Health
and Psychology programs. Assigned courses will typically include a
combination of advanced undergraduate and graduate courses
primarily in the candidate's area of expertiseDuring the first two
years of the appointment, a reduced teaching load to include two
classes per semester can be anticipated, providing an opportunity
to establish a research program and develop courses. Faculty also
may use funds from externally-sponsored research programs to reduce
their teaching loads.
Otherresponsibilities include contributing to the assessment and
continued development ofClinical Psychologycourses, and
contributing to the University community through committee service
and other activities.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Clinical Psychology (or a closely related discipline) from a
college or university accredited by the US Department of Education
or internationally recognized organization.

focus on teaching undergraduate students, and past contributions

description of current and future research interests, including a
discussion of opportunities to develop or continue externally
funded research.
Applicants for Associate or Full professor with well-established
research programs should include in their cover letters a statement
on their current program and describe how they would shift their
program to SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Applicants for Associate or
Full professor with interests in academic administration, including
potential appointment as department chair, should include a
statement detailing their interest and experiences in academic
leadership and curriculum development and assessment.
