Job DescriptionThe Education and Training Program Manager works in close conjunction with and reports to the Director of Community Initiatives to provide evidence-based Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training to teachers, families, veterans, Law Enforcement, and community agencies across Central New York. The ETPM will have experience training different populations across different media platforms. Additionally, the ETPM will be responsible for providing and coordinating the vast majority of external ICAN trainings as well as to develop internal structures to deliver, track and coordinate internal ICAN trainings.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for successfully completing certifications for both MHFA and/or YMHFA training and/or any other Evidenced Based Program Model (EBP) identified as pertinent to the project.
  • Works with team on the design and delivery of MHFA training as well as other pertinent trainings to be delivered.
  • Provides training and education sessions, both in-person and through virtual platforms (i.e. Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc.).
  • Provides a majority of outward facing ICAN education and training opportunities for contracted partners.
  • Will work closely with ICAN Leadership to design, deliver and track required internal staff training. Will also work with the HR and Quality Improvement departments to ensure all mandated staff trainings are completed.
  • Serves as the lead in coordinating, monitoring and tracking staff development through ICAN LMS (Relias).
  • Assists in the creation and delivery of resources that will help participants find appropriate Mental Health supports in their communities.
  • Coordinates with partnering agencies to facilitate training groups and sessions for their staff.
  • Assists in organizing informational sessions for agencies to become aware that Mental Health First Aid is available to the community.
  • Creates resources and tools to track data from partnering agencies (such as number of participants, pre and post tests, number of referrals made, etc.).
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date records in ICAN's electronic data record in order to track metrics, outcomes, and gaps & needs in the project.
  • Assists the Program Director with evaluation processes for a full project evaluation.
  • Assists the CAO and Director of Community Initiatives in developing an internal ICAN training department.
  • Assists in the training and development of additional internal ICAN trainers. Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
    • At least two years relevant experience designing, developing and delivering training and educational presentation.
    • Additional professional development in specialty areas helpful. Ability to adjust to student, staff, and program needs.
    • Experience working in Behavioral or Mental Health field preferred.
