Job Description Job Description Description: POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fund Development Officer will work to build and maintain
relationships with donors, securing financial resources to support
the organization’s mission of providing reproductive health care
and education. This role will focus on individual donor relations,
business and non-profit collaborations, fundraising campaigns, and
event planning to grow Planned Parenthood's financial capacity and
sustainability. ESSENTIAL DUTIES : 1. Prospects, cultivates,
solicits and stewards existing and potential major donors as
assigned. 2. Works in collaboration with other departments within
the affiliate to plan and execute events. 3. Works with Fund
Development team to develop plans, schedules, strategies and
budgets for fundraising. 4. Carries out donor surveys and analyzes
results. 5. Manages Direct Mail and direct marketing programs with
the Fund Development team. 6. Participates with the Fund
Development team and the CEO in attainment of goals for fundraising
events and major capital campaigns. 7. Properly maintains donor
database in Donor Perfect and software related to development
efforts. 8. Develops weekly assignments for the CEO and assures
that information from these assignments is put into the database.
9. Works in collaboration with the Fund Development team to promote
and position PPNCNY to the public. 10. Donor database management in
accordance with development policies and procedures. 11. Keeps
abreast of current trends in fundraising including attendance at
PPFA conferences and workshops. 12. Maintain legal and ethical
standards related to fundraising. 13. Collaborate with the External
Affairs department on campaigns to reach donors and supporters. 14.
Manage all aspects of donor data entry, including gifts, pledges,
acknowledgements, and donor information updates in donor database.
15. Maintain data integrity and consistency across records,
ensuring accurate donor histories and coding. 16. Generate and
distribute monthly reports on key fundraising performance
indicators. 17. Support analysis and segmentation of donor data for
targeted communications, appeals, and stewardship efforts. 18.
Process daily donations and ensure timely, personalized
acknowledgements for all gifts. 19. Coordinate with the finance
team to reconcile gift records and maintain compliance with
internal accounting procedures. 20. Assist with donor mailings and
recognition lists. Requirements: REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1.
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and data
with accuracy, attention to detail, flexibility and
confidentiality. 2. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability
work cooperatively with internal and external customers. 3.
Excellent business English, Microsoft Word, database, and Excel
skills. 4. Commitment to PPNCNY core values of teamwork,
compassion, confidentiality and quality care. 5. Acceptance and
understanding of PPNCNY Personnel Policies. 6. Ability to travel
extensively across the region to meet with donors supporters,
subcontractors working on events and community organizations. 7.
Strong oral communication and presentation skills with demonstrated
comfort discussing the mission of PPNCNY. QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
Bachelors Degree, 3-5 years experience in the management of a fund
development program or related experience for a non-profit
organization. 2. A passion to raise money for PPNCNY 3.
Comprehensive knowledge about PPNCNY’s mission and services. 4.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills. 5. Proficiency
in using Internet, email and other software related to development.
6. Ability to take initiative and make decisions. 7. Experience
working with Board of directors, community partners and other
volunteers to achieve fundraising goals. 8. Networking experience
and comfort in social networking settings. 9. Mathematical and
analytical skills. Experience developing and monitoring a budget
and reports preparation using excel and other spreadsheet programs.
10. Understanding of tax laws and ethical standards related to
charitable giving. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS Lift/carry
